All for a good cause...

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and if you haven't already had your mammogram done this year, I charge you with scheduling an appointment in the next two weeks! And even if you're not "that age" yet, or for my guy friends that do stop in and read my blog, all of us have great women in our lives that you wouldn't want to see get this disease. I had one done this year, even though I thought I was too young, my docs scheduled me for one at the Rose Center... I had always heard horror stories, but 15 minutes of discomfort could save your life in the long run!

I was a part of the "Scrap Pink Weekend" at my LSS, and we had a blast!! All kinds of goodies were handed out, and more than half of the monies raised went to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of getting control of this Cancer. I am currently working on a layout, and should have it posted before the end of the week! (Maybe even tomorrow!)

Also, FYI, I have "Walked" for the March of Dimes (saving premature infants and those that come into this world fighting every second!) since I was in High School, and I've got a team called "Crop 4 Dimes" that I started when I could no longer physically do the walk, but still wanted to raise money. I'm looking for an LSS to hold it at for 2008, and will have all kinds of prizes and goodies for those that attend and donate... details to come, so please keep an eye out! If you'd like to join me in this effort, please contact me!

I am part of a society devoted to "Sticking our Necks Out".... if you can tell me what this means, or what color ribbon is used, I've got a freebie for the first person that can post the answer in the comments section! (No cheating please!!)
